MANSFIELD: David John Hershberger, 68, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2013 at his residence following a lengthy illness.
David was born July 22, 1944 in Millersburg to John A. and Carrie Marie (Dolan Troyer) Hershberger. He enjoyed playing softball for many years, playing horseshoes, fishing, and working with his tools.
Along with his wife of 46 years, whom he married on August 6, 1966, Glenna Fay Collins Hershberger, David is survived by four children, Kimberly S. (Raymond) Hess, David Allen Hershberger, Christopher L. (Nicole L.) Hershberger, and Christina D. Hershberger all of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three siblings, Martha (Andrew) Schrock of Vinton, Monroe J. (Ida) Hershberger of Windsor, Missouri, and Fannie (Ben) Yoder of Ashland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Andrew Hershberger; and an infant brother.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2013 at Diamond Hill Cathedral, 500 Tingley Avenue, Mansfield. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 p.m. with Mel Schroeder officiating.
