Obituary
On Aug 4, 2022, Dale G. Treace, passed away at the age of 92, as a resident of The Ohio Masonic Home, Springfield, Ohio.
Dale was born on April 28, 1930, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Frank and Ruth (Shepard) Treace. He married Evelyn (Draves) Treace on December 8, 1950, and raised three children. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Japan for two years. He was a proud member of the local Korean War Veterans organization.
He was a lifelong member of the Fraternal Order of Masons where he achieved the rank of 32nd Degree Mason and Past Master of the Frank Marquis Lodge. In his later years, Dale wrote and published a book titled ‘The Diary of a Mason and What It Has Meant In My Life’, because being a Mason meant so much to him.
Dale also authored an autobiography called “The Life Of An Auto Mechanic, A Life of Service” in 2019 at age 89, and held a well-attended book signing for which he was quite proud.
Dale had a passion for playing billiards, watching auto races, his pontoon boat, his church, dancing with his wife, his family and many friends. He was a devoted father and hard working auto mechanic throughout his career, operating a number of service stations, body shops, and car lots around Mansfield.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Ruth, brother, Darwin, and his wife, Evie, after 65 years of marriage. He is survived by his three children, Vicki LaFramboise (Bill), Diana Treace, and David Treace (Ginny); four grandchildren, Lindsay Sullivan (Matt), Drew LaFramboise (Gretchen), Lauren Buffin (Blake) and Taylor Treace; five great grandchildren, Harper Sullivan, Will Sullivan, Evelyn Buffin, Jack Buffin and Ruby Gates; several cousins, precious nieces (Vaughna and Charis) and a dear nephew (Chuck) and their children, as well as his beloved lifelong friends and church members.
A funeral service with be officiated by Rev. Paul Lintern at Snyder Funeral Home Marion Avenue Chapel, 350 Marion Avenue Mansfield, Ohio 44903 on Monday August 15, 2022. The family will receive guests from 10 am to 11 am, with a funeral service honoring Dale’s life beginning immediately after. Burial to take place at Mansfield Memorial Park. Donations can be made to Ohio Valley Hospice at 322 W Main St. Suite B, Troy, Ohio 45373.
