Obituary
Marilyn M. (Wagner) Levy, 70, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Brookdale Westlake Village. She was born February 27, 1952 in Wooster, Ohio to the late Clayton C. and Ruth M. (Bricker) Wagner.
Marilyn was a 1970 class graduate of Smithville High School in Wayne County. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Education from Akron University and a master’s degree in Rehabilitation at DePaul University of Chicago. Marilyn retired after 30 years as a social worker with Richland County Job and Family Services. She also worked as a case worker at Rain Tree and was a part of the Marion AIDS Task Force in Mansfield. She volunteered at the 211 call center for Richland County after retirement.
Marilyn enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She made the most of every moment and cherished the many memories they shared together. She loved to read and had a lifelong interest in history, genealogy, and the classics. She faithfully attended the Peace Fellowship Church.
She is survived by her brother, Bill (Sharon) Wagner; sisters, Julie Wagner and Barbara Baraona; nieces and nephews, Jacob (Amber) Baraona, Michael (Liz) Baraona, Caitlin (Shaun) Lovett and Hilary (Tyler) Train; seven great-nieces and nephews, soon to be eight; special aunt, Wilda McDaniel; and many friends including dearest friend, Florence Frietchen.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Larry L. Levy, who passed April 13, 1996.
The family will receive friends from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 3, 2022 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond St., Mansfield, Ohio 44902. A service will follow beginning at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Dan Dickman officiating. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Peace Fellowship Church, 106 Sturges Avenue, Mansfield, Ohio 44903 or give to a local food bank.
