Obituary
Nicholas Pahlow
April 6, 1978 - April 13, 2004
Nicholas Pahlow, age 26, died Tuesday, April 13, 2004, at St. Ann’s Hospital in Columbus, ending a courageous battle with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Nick was born on April 6, 1978, in Edina, Minnesota. He was a graduate of Galion High School and an honorary member of the Galion City Police Force. Nick loved nature, frogs, ants, and monkeys, fast cars, pretty women and Sponge Bob. Nicholas’s special qualities attracted many loving and devoted friends. He showed no self-pity and was always grateful for what he had. Nick lived his life with grace and patience and never complained. Though he suffered greatly, his concern was always for others. His courage and love of life inspired and amazed us all. He was our brave tiger, and it was extremely humbling to know him.
Nick is survived by his father, Scott of Galion; sister, Sarah of Rockford, Illinois; and mother, Diane of Mansfield. We are especially thankful to his uncle, Mark Pahlow of Seattle, Washington and Cynthia Adam of Galion for their love and support over the years. He was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Benjamin and Catherine Pahlow of Mansfield.
There will be a memorial gathering for friends and family at the Pugh Cabin at Malabar Farm State Park on Sunday, May 2, 2004, from 1-5 p.m. Any who wish are invited to share memories of Nick, beginning at 3:00 p.m. Wappner Funeral Directors assisted the family with arrangements.
