Mansfield: Anna Marie Wachs, age 72, of Mansfield passed away Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Crystal Care Center of Ashland following an eight-month illness.
She was born April 20, 1950 in Mansfield the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Goss) Graf and attended St. Mary of the Snows Catholic School and graduated from Madison High School in 1968.
Anna Marie worked in Human Resources at Miami Systems in Shelby, F.E. Myers in Ashland and Ohio Brass in Mansfield where she met her husband of 27 years. On December 1, 1973 she married Spencer Wachs who preceded her in death in 2001. More recently, she worked at Burlington Coat Factory until October of 2021 when she became ill.
She was a member of both St. Mary of the Snows Catholic Church and First Christian Church. She was also a member of the Sons of Herman and spent many years at Park Lanes in a bowling league.
Very active before her illness, Anna Marie loved hosting swim parties at her pool, camping/glamping at Charles Mill Lake, and shopping trips to Amish Country for cheese, wine, crafts and baked goods. She loved hosting her family at the campground and playing Yahtzee, Skip-Bo and Dominoes. Most of all, she was a great supporter of her family and friends, never missing an event even if she was unwell.
Described as kind and sweet, unless she was competing in a game with her sister, Anna would do anything for anyone. Full of courage and patience, she was blessed with a dry sense of humor and the heart of a fighter.
