Obituary
Eleanor Miller Davis, 89, died Tuesday Feb. 17, 2004, at MedCentral/Mansfield Hospital after a long illness. Born Feb. 14, 1915, in Sandusky, to William Roland and Faye Marie Jenkins Miller, she was an area resident most of her life, graduating from Mansfield Senior High School in 1933. Eleanor retired after 24 years of service with Dominion Electric. After her retirement, she attended art classes at The Ohio State University and Ashland College, and was a charter member of Mansfield Art Member.
All of her life, Eleanor enjoyed painting, sculpting and pottery making. She was an avid reader and enjoyed sewing, knitting, crocheting, making jewelry and especially spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by two daughters and a son-in-law, Rowean N. Santolucito and Carole A. and Marty Hildebrand, all of Mansfield; two sons and daughters in law, Clayton and Norma Davis of Shelby and Gary L. and Nancy Zeigler of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Atty. David C. Calderhead, James William Calderhead, Chip Calderhead, Dr. Kirk Davis, Jodie Cotter, Brent A. King, Leesa Cooper and Shannon Zeigler; 15 greatgrandchildren; a brother and sister in law, Eugene A. and Rosemary Miller of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bernard J. Davis; and brothers, Carl and Roderick Miller.
Friends may call at the Diamond Street Home of Wapper Funeral Directors Friday, Feb. 20, from 5-8pm. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 10:30am. at First English Lutheran Church, conducted by Rev.Paul Larson. Burial will fallow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
