Ethel May (Zimmerman) Wolff, 101, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2023.
Ethel was born on May 13, 1922, in Cleveland, to Charles and Anna (Frank) Zimmerman. She married the love of her life, Frederick Wolff, on February 13, 1942, and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2015. Ethel enjoyed sewing, canning, cooking and baking and was known for her strudel. She was musically gifted and enjoyed playing the organ and accordion. She loved to watch birds, especially hummingbirds. She volunteered with many organizations, including her church, up until age 90 she ran bingo at Mifflin Care Center, AARP, and Friendly House, and she was “Ohio Mother of the Year” with the Twin Club. She was also awarded “Volunteer of the Year” by Governor Voinavich.
She is survived by her children, Ronald (Susan) Wolff of Morgan, Utah, Thomas Charles (Glenda) Wolff of The Villages, Florida, and twins, Randy (Judy) Wolff of Mt. Vernon and Sandy (Dave) Brown of Butler; 14 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her beloved husband, Frederick, Ethel was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.
Calling hours will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home, with Pastor Mike Wilson officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park.
The family of Ethel wishes to thank the staff of Winchester Terrace, and the staff of Southern Care Hospice, for the excellent care that was given to Ethel.
