Shirley Ann (Kelly) Gerhart, 87, of Mansfield, went to be with the love of her life, Richard, and her beloved son, Brian Gerhart, on Saturday, October 2, 2021.
Shirley was born July 26, 1934 in Mansfield to LeRoy and Freda (Frazier) Kelly. She married Richard on January 19, 1952 and they celebrated 59 years of marriage before he passed away on May 3, 2011. She enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, crocheting baby blankets and giving them to family and friends. She also worked at the Board of Elections for 25 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church since 1952.
Shirley is survived by her children, Vickie (Craig) Wagner, Rick Gerhart, Kevin (Cheryl) Gerhart, and Ken Workman; grandchildren, Ryan (Candice) Gerhart, Nikki Wagner, Lindsay (Brock) Jordan, Jenna (Jeremy) Kiser, Derek (Kristen) Wagner, Ben Gerhart, and Sara Gerhart; eleven great-grandchildren; her sisters and best friends, Dixie (Kelly) Lucas and Sandy (Kelly) and Rick Cyrus; sister-in-law, Diana Kelly; and many nieces and nephews.
Along with her husband, Richard, and her son, Brian, Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, LeRoy and Freda; brother, Bruce Kelly; and daughter-in-law, Gail Gerhart.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, October 8, 2021 at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park at a later date.
