Willie M. Jeffries
Mansfield - Willie M. Jeffries, 77, of Mansfield, passed away Monday, October 18, 2021.
Willie was born March 19, 1944 in Shady Dale, Georgia to Willie T. Jeffries and Minnie Ola (Derico) Moton. Willie was a hard worker. When he moved to Mansfield, he started working at Shaffer Valve, then went to Tappen, and later to Westinghouse. He then owned his own business and with his many skills, he enjoyed landscaping, lawn mowing, painting and pest control. He retired from his business after a car accident in 1985; however, he continued to drive bus for The Salvation Army and mow lawns. He enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Ann (Caldwell) Jeffries; children, Mark Freeman, Ed Nolley, Tyrone Jeffries, and Shanay Hughes; eight grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; six brothers, Sam Horn, Freddie (Carol) Moton, Oscar (Mary) Moton, John Moton, David (Geraldine) Moton, and Henry Moton; four sisters, Betty (Charles) Catchings, Luvenia (Eugene) Ziaire, Willie Clarice (Johnnie) McLean, and Vernal (Charles) Darnell; two sisters-in-law, Theresa (Ben) Williams and Debra Stewart; two brothers-in-law, Curtis (Jackie) Caldwell and Dennis Caldwell, Jr.; and many nieces and nephews.
Willie was preceded in death by his father, mother, and step-father; brother, Joe Moton; and one sister-in-law, Ginnie Horn.
Calling hours will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, October 29, 2021, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with Barry Lawrence officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park, Ontario.
