Ruth Eleanor Hamilton, 86, of Mansfield, died Monday, March 12, 2012 at her residence.
Born August 9, 1925 in Bucyrus, she was the daughter of Ray E. and Mary Fern (Dobbins) Spore. A homemaker, she was a member of South Main Street United Methodist Church, Academy of Friendship, AARP and was a life member of the Women of the Moose. In her earlier years, she had worked for Western Union and Investors Diversified. She enjoyed golfing and bowling but her greatest enjoyment was her family and she will always be remembered as a wonderful mom and grandma.
She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Williams and Jennifer (Curtiss) Bush all of Mansfield; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Chuck) Edwards, Chad (Lori) Williams, Rachel Bush, Curtiss Bush, Benjamin Bush, Janet Hamilton and Mark Hamilton; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; two brothers, Gail (Joyce) Spore and Chuck (Meg) Spore both of Mansfield; a sister, Donna Rose Desport of Florida; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John C. Hamilton; a son, John D. Hamilton; a grandson, John J. Hamilton; and a brother, Richard Spore.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 S. Diamond Street, Mansfield. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the services, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to MedCentral Hospice or the American Cancer Society.
