JOHN HAMILTON, 78, DIED MONDAY, AUG. 12, 2002, AT HOME.
MR. HAMILTON WAS BORN NOVEMBER 26, 1923 IN MANSFIELD BEING A LIFELONG RESIDENT. HE RETIRED FROM MANSFIELD TIRE AND RUBBER AFTER 33 YEARS OF SERVICE. MR. HAMILTON WAS A MEMBER OF THE MOOSE LODGE #341 AND AMVETS POST #26. JOHN LOVED TO GOLF, BOWL AND PITCH HORESHOES. MR. HAMILTON WAS A VETERAN OF THE UNITED STATES NAVY, SERVING DURING WWII.
SURVIVING ARE HIS WIFE, RUTH E. HAMILTON; SON, JOHN HAMILTON OF ASHLAND; TWO DAUGHTERS AND ONE SON-IN-LAW, JENNIFER AND CURTISS BUSH AND SANDY WILLIAMS, ALL OF MANSFIELD; EIGHT GRANDCHILDREN; 10 GREAT-GRANDCHILDREN; AND SISTER, CHRISTINA AU OF LUCAS. HE WAS PRECEDED IN DEATH BY HIS PARENTS, ALEXANDER AND JANET HAMILTON; AND TWO BROTHERS, ALEXANDER AND WILLIAM HAMILTON.
FRIENDS MAY CALL AT THE DIAMOND STREET HOME OF WAPPNER FUNERAL DIRECTORS ON THIRSDAY, AUG. 15, 2002 FROM 6-9PM. FUNERAL SERVICES WILL BE HELD ON FRIDAY AT 1PM AT THE FUNERAL HOME, CONDUCTED BY THE REV. ALLEN E. ROSE OF MAIN STREET UNITED METHODIST CHURCH. MILITARY GRAVESIDE SERVICES WILL BE CONDUCTED BY RICHLAND CO JOINT VETERANS BURIAL DETAIL IN MANSFIELD MEMORIAL PARK FOLLOWING SERVICES. MEMORIAL CONTRIBUTIONS MAY BE MADE TO MEDCENTRAL HOSPICE OR AMERICAN CANCER SOCIETY.
