Melinda Joyce Black of Mansfield, Ohio
January 13, 1958 - October 19, 2020
Melinda Joyce BLACK, 62, passed this life on Monday, October 19, 2020 in OhioHealth Mansfield Hospital after an extended illness.
Ms. Black was born Monday, January 13, 1958 to the late Willie Black and Lillie Pearl (Jackson) Black in Mansfield and was a life resident. Melinda was a member of the Mansfield Senior High School graduating class of 1976, some time after graduation she attended Mansfield Business College. Melinda was a former employee of Mansfield Memorial Homes and the former Woodlawn Nursing Home. She was a member of the Oasis Of Love Church. Melinda was a creative person working with her hands by putting items together, a fine seamstress, and a first soprano, who always had a tune to sing. She loved people and most of all being with her family.
Melinda is survived by her 2 children: Teena Black with whom she made her home, Kevin Black, Mansfield; 2 grandchildren: Zion and Jordan Lootens, Mansfield; 5 siblings: Judith A. Black, Barbara (Moses) Ann Black-Oluwatuyi , Kenneth Black, Mansfield, Wayne (Princess) Black, Columbus, Georgia, and Bryon (Reba) Black, Akron, and half brother: Anthony Taylor, Mansfield.
In addition to her parents Melinda was preceded in death by her son, Tyri LaVar Black.
There will be no services at this time. The family will hold a memorial service in honor of Melinda at a later date.
