Obituary
Raymond A. Stover 69 of West Jefferson, Ohio, passed away November 18, 2022 at 5:42 p.m. with his family by his side.
He was born February 9, 1953, the son of the late Clarence E. Stover and Joanne M. Langley, who survives in Fremont.
He was a 1971 graduate of St. Joseph Central Catholic High School and was proud to serve 4 years in the United States Navy. He went on to begin his own trucking company, Stover Transportation, Inc. in Hilliard, Ohio.
On October 18, 1985, he married Rynda J. (Halbeisen) Stover and she survives.
Left to cherish his memory are Ray’s mother, Joanne, wife, Rynda; Children, Andrea (Ivan) Shapoval of Ontario, Ohio, Adam Stover of Hilliard, and Dak Goodman of Hilliard.
Siblings, Elaine (Larry) Fisher, of Fremont, Rebecca (John) Smith of Fremont, William (Jo Ann Morris) Stover of Clyde, Randall Stover of Fremont, David (Teri Harrison) Stover of Fremont, and Andrew (Linnea) Stover, of Norwalk.
His most beloved grandchildren; Austin Stover, Matthews Mills, Cade Mills, Olivia Hall, Gavin Goodman, Navi Shapoval, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Clarence, stepfather Robert Langley and his sister Wendy Suter.
He was dedicated to his business and wanted his legacy to be remembered by the love of his work.
Ray was a big believer in giving back to his community, supporting many charities.
His family was always number one to him. Ray supported his grandchildren and would love to watch them play their sports. He had a big heart and enjoyed helping everyone. Over the years he provided tuition and books for college for many nieces and nephews and employed many different family members at Stover Transportation Inc.
He loved his Ohio State Buckeyes. He hosted many Ohio State spring games with the family and enjoyed many Saturdays at the Horseshoe watching games accompanied by many family members.
When Ray walked into a room you could feel his energy and you knew he was there.
He will be dearly missed by so many. Rest in Peace Ray.
