Betty J. Swinney age 93 of Shelby, passed away Sunday, May 29, 2022, at Crestwood Care Center.
Born April 16, 1929, in Mansfield to Paul and Mary (Franko) Paulo she had been an area resident most of her life. Betty was employed with Hartman Electric, HB Electric in Mansfield and retired from Prestolite in Alabama in 1991. In 2003 she moved to Riverview, Florida. She then returned to Ohio in December of 2008.
Betty was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ, VFW Post #9943 Ladies Auxiliary, Mansfield F.O.E. Ladies Auxiliary, and the Mansfield Liederkranz. She enjoyed being with friends, playing cards, Bingo, dominos and visiting casinos.
She is survived by her son, Don (Jackie) Shaffer of Ontario; her daughter, Shelley (Bob) Herlihy of Cincinnati, four grandchildren, Steven (Jen) Shaffer, Mark (Carissa) Shaffer, Ryan (Jackie) Herlihy, and Kellie (Gary) Williams; four great-grandchildren, Jake (Rachell) Shaffer, Sophie Shaffer, Ryan Herlihy, and Mason Herlihy; one great great grandaughter Elliana Shaffer; one brother, Don Paulo of Grove City; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Betty was preceded in death by her husband, U.L. Swinney in 1993, three sisters, Ethel Dinkel, Marjorie Morrell and Dorothy Stewart: and five brothers, Robert, John, Tom, Francis, and Carl Paulo.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the Crestwood Care Center for their kindness over the past six years.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 8, 2022, in Mansfield Memorial Park at 2507 Park Ave W, Ontario, OH 44906. Pastor James Robinson will officiate.
