Miriam Yunker Wagenhals
January 6, 1924 - January 8, 2021
Miriam Yunker Wagenhals, 97, of Mansfield, passed away Friday, January 8, 2021. She was born in Richland County on January 6, 1924, the only daughter of the late Fred and Mabel (Barr) Yunker.
She lived in Richland County most of her life and worked for Dr. William Reister, D.P.M. for many years. Miriam was a member of AmVets Post #26, American Legion Auxiliary and the Mansfield Liederkranz.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Ret. Lt. Col. Robert and Col. Karen Wagenhals M.D.; two grandchildren, Major Ben Wagenhals and Beth Wagenhals-Smith; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Wagenhals; and four brothers, Robert, John, Richard and Donald Yunker.
The family expresses deep appreciation to the staff and Elmcroft Assisted Living and Hospice of North Central Ohio for the excellent care they provided to Miriam.
A graveside service conducted by Pastor Christine Bell will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Mansfield Memorial Park. The Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors is honored to serve the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
