MANSFIELD: Real strength is found in gentleness. Highest value is found in kindness. Keith Love embraced Paul’s letter to the Colossians: “Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.” (Col 3:12) Always calm and soft-spoken, Keith placed the needs of others before his own needs – his character aligned with Christian principles.
Keith Allen Love passed into the Lord’s care Saturday, April 22, 2023 from AdventHealth Heart of Florida Hospital in Davenport, FL. He was 80.
Born July 27, 1942 in Galion to parents Raymond and Carol (Bauer) Love, he was graduated from Galion High School and then served with the U.S. Army.
Keith was a member, and former Exalted Ruler, of Elks Lodge #1191. An avid golfer, he shot his only hole-in-one while golfing with his daughter Debbie on the Valley View Golf Course, Crestline.
Keith worked with General Motors over 32 years, where Keith inspected steel – ensuring parts could proceed in production, and many of Keith’s recommendations were implemented by GM to improve the manufacturing process.
Remembered as a kind gentle man, Keith was a member of Westside Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years Carolyn Lyons Love (“he always put me first – there was never a finer husband”); his children Christopher (Lora) Love of Ontario, Deborah (Greg) Bowron of Galion, and Scott (Amy) Love of Delaware; step sons Tom (Melissa) Janes of Naples, FL, and Tim (Yukiko) Janes of Kapaau, Hawaii; grandchildren Maggie Love of Ontario, Bradley (Bethanie) Bowron, Brittany Bowron, and Nicholas Bowron all of Galion, Bryce Love of Delaware, Sydney (Jack) Whittaker of Naples, FL, Lili Janes of Grove City, Cameron Janes of Columbus, Anthony (Lindsey) Burton of Des Moines, IA, Kyle Grover of Mansfield; a great granddaughter Zoie Grover, and his first great grandson – Keith was crazy about this little guy – Tucker Bowron; and siblings Nancy Pennepacker of Clearwater, FL, Mary Skaggs of Grove City, and Sally Love of Columbus.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother James Love and a sister Constance Love.
The Love family will receive guests Saturday, April 29, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. to 2 p.m. in Westside Baptist Church, 3720 West Fourth Street, Mansfield, where a worship service, giving glory to God for the life of Keith Love will follow at 2 p.m. Pastor Joe Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. The Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home is handling funeral arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to Westside Baptist Church, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, or Wounded Warrior may be made at the funeral.
Snyder Funeral Home is honored to serve the Love family. Share a message of support with them – and watch Keith’s tribute video – online at: SnyderFuneralHomes.com
