Obituary
James “Jimmy” L. Brown, 59, of Mansfield, went to be with his Heavenly Father at 10:08 a.m. on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 while in the care of Ohio Health Mansfield Hospital.
Jimmy was born April 29, 1961 in Greensboro, North Carolina, the son of Ruben Moses and Agnes Josephine (Jones) Brown.
Jimmy spent the last few years helping out at Mansfield Motor Speedway. He absolutely loved going there, doing various things there, and making many friends. He also helped out at the Gateway Dirt Nationals, Dirt in December, in the Dome of America Center. The other joys of his life were his two Great Danes, Silas and Sadie, and the Great Dane Klutz that was waiting for him at heaven’s gate. He also loved fishing, even though fishing with Lee meant that he took the fish off of her hook more than off of his.
He is survived by his wife, Lee (Ross) Brown, whom he loved dearly; daughters, Krista Raines (DJ) and Deidrea (Timmy) Sumblin both of NC; sons, Ricky (Tatum Li) Bullington of HI and Evan Bullington of TN; four grandchildren, Lucas Wheeler, Joshua Thompson, Abigail Sumblin, and Zoe Raines; three siblings, Brenda (Jeff) Still, Ricky Brown, and Donna Mendez (Martin) all of Pleasant Garden, NC; nieces and nephews, Angie, Cindy, Danielle, and Ruben; great nieces and nephews, Shannon, Lily, Stephanie, Damien, Natilie, Bella, Alex, and Jayden; and several cousins and other family members.
Jimmy was preceded in death parents, grandparents, and numerous aunts and uncles.
Calling hours will be from 2:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 30, 2020 at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Graveside services will be held at Mansfield Memorial Park on Monday, August 31, 2020 at 12:00 p.m.
