Jack Raymond Smart
MANSFIELD: Jack Raymond Smart, 78, of Mansfield, passed away on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at his home following a battle with cancer.
Jack was born November 27, 1938 in Dayton, the son of Raymond and Virginia (Dryden) Smart. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, stateside during the Vietnam War. Jack served as the Vice-President of Neighborhood Watch and President of AARP.
He is survived by his significate other, Edith Craze; two children, Daniel (Marlene) Smart and Pamela (Ronald) Finger; two grandchildren, Luke (Jess) Smart and Ellie Britton; one brother, Dale (Jackie) Smart; and one grand-nephew, Justin (Brittany) Britton.
Jack was preceded in death by his parents.
Special thanks to our family and friends, especially Sharon Lee, Crystal Lee, and Kaylee Lee, who have been sharing their memories and lending support through this difficult time. We appreciate every one of you.
Calling hours will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield, OH. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park with full military honors performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
