Obituary
Daltin Wade Gorrell, age 13, passed away Saturday, January 28, 2023, at Akron Children’s Hospital. He was born April 24, 2009, in Ashland, Ohio, and was in the 8th grade at Lucas High School where he enjoyed making people laugh and was widely known at the “class clown”.
Daltin enjoyed playing video games on his computer and target shooting with his dad. Vacations in the mountains of Tennessee and going to the beach were among his favorite spots. Cedar Point was his favorite theme park and he went often. Swimming, going to Red Lobster for crab legs and hanging out with his older brother were special pastimes. Daltin refused to leave a room without everyone saying, “I love you”.
Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Tambreia (Truex) and Jeremy Gorrell; brother, Rylee Gorrell; grandmother, Yvette Truex; grandparents Neil and Glenda Belcher and Roger and Patricia Gorrell; Grandma Steph; great-grandmother, Sadonna Adams; three uncles, Trevor (Jami) Gorrell, Jesse (Lara) Truex, and Luke Belcher; an aunt, Keirra (Kevin) Dawson; and many other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Alivea Gorrell; and great-grandparents, Janet and Harry Belcher, Dale Truex, and Norma Wade.
The family will receive friends from 4:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 2, 2023, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 11:00 a.m. He will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Although his time on earth was short, Daltin leaves a legacy that will be remembered forever.
