Jesus Savior gave Remedios Paz Maristela, 92, Greenwood, Indiana the gift of everlasting life on His birthday, 2020.
Remy was born September 14, 1928, in the Philippines to Genaro and Cayetana (Bautista) Paz. As a young girl and into her teens Remy enjoyed playing softball and the piano.

She sang in the choir at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Meridian, Mississippi.
A graduate of the University of the Philippines, College of Pharmacy, Remy worked as a pharmacist at Pharmacia Angelica in the Philippines. Other work experiences were as principal at Pililla Academy in the Philippines and patient librarian at East Mississippi State Hospital in Meridian, Mississippi.
Remy, along with her children immigrated to the United States in 1974.
Remy was preceded in death by her husband; parents; brother, Dr. Jesus B. Paz.
Survivors include daughters, Marie of Pililla, Rizal, Philippines; Cayetana of St. Joseph, Missouri; Magdalena (Steve) Tooley of Bellevue, Nebraska; and son Pedro (Judith) of Greenwood, Indiana; grandson TJ (Kyla) Tooley of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; granddaughters Alexandra Tooley of Bellevue, Nebraska; Abigail Maristela of Washington DC; and Sabrina Maristela of Scottsdale, Arizona. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Lucy Amsbaugh of Mansfield, Ohio; cousins and extended family.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at St. Mary of the Snows, 1630 Ashland Road, Mansfield, OH 44905, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass at the church. She will be laid to rest at Mansfield Memorial Park, Mansfield, OH.
In lieu of flowers for those wishing to make a contribution, the family suggests they be made to Pililla Educational Center.
Mama, “Rejoice and be glad, yours is the kingdom shine for all to see!”
