MANSFELD: Tonda M. (Freel) Dillon, age 50, of Mansfield passed away Tuesday, April 27, 2021 in Oak Grove Manor following a battle with ALS.
She was born September 9, 1970 in Mansfield to Russell and Cheryl (Smith) Freel and graduated from Lexington High School in 1988. She also attended Ashland University.
Tonda worked at several local daycare centers and most recently a Pre- K teacher at Kno-Ho-Co Headstart. She also attended Storyside Church.
She loved football, following the Redskins and the Browns. Tonda enjoyed her time spent with family and going to the beach. She prized her Marilyn Monroe collection and will be remembered as a selfless soul who always put others first.
She is survived by mother Cheryl Freel of Mansfield, daughter Sierra Dillon, son Jared Dillon, and their father Sean Dillon all of Bellville; Sean’s mother Thelda Dillon, a grandson Zandyn Milner, brother Gordon Freel of Mansfield, nieces Jessica (Nathaniel) Gray and Jenna Wander all of MD, Skylar Dillon Newlon and Lance Dillon both of Bellville, great nieces and nephews Graysen, Kinley, Brookelyn, Rowan and Reis; and many close friends.
She was preceded in death by her father Russell Freel in 2017.
The Dillon-Freel family would like to thank the nursing staff at Oak Grove Manor, especially Allison for their loving care and also the Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association for helping the family navigate Tonda’s changing needs
Friends may call Monday, May 3, 2021 from 10 am- 11 am in the Marion Avenue Snyder Funeral Home where the funeral service honoring the life of Tonda Dillon will follow at 11 am. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park.
Memorial donations in her memory may be made to the Friendly House or Northern Ohio Chapter of the ALS Association.
