Obituary
Marjorie Mae Briton Orewiler (Marge) was born in Wooster, Ohio on November 11, 1928 to Velma Treece Briton. She transitioned from this life to her eternal home on July 9, 2022. She was the sister of Anita Briton Hines, who was one of her best friends. She lived in Wooster, Ohio until she married Charles “Elton” Orewiler on August 17, 1947. They had 2 children, Mike and Marti.
After living in California, while Elton completed college, they spent the remainder of their lives as pastors or teachers with the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel. Marge became a licensed minister with this denomination in 1967 and always worked alongside her husband in ministry. They pastored churches in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Maine and Maryland. Elton was on the faculty of Mount Vernon Bible College for 6 years. Marge also worked as a school secretary in elementary schools as well as the University of Akron and the University of Pennsylvania. They retired in 1991. Even after retirement, they continued to contribute to the churches they attended and fill in as needed. Their hearts were always for ministry and helping others.
Marge was a friendly, compassionate and faithful servant of the Lord. She shared the love of Christ wherever she went. Even when she lived in an Assisted Living Facility in Pueblo, CO, she started a Bible study there which continued after she left.
Marge was preceded in death by her mother, Velma Briton; sister, Anita Hines; husband, Elton; son, Mike; and grandson, Tim Borden. She leaves behind a legacy of family and friends whose lives she touched and will miss her on this earth, but will reunite with her some day in the heavenly home.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, July 16, 2:00 p.m. at the Springfield United Methodist Church. The Maltbie Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.
