Obituary
Bellville: Betty Marie Connell, 93, of Bellville, passed away Wednesday evening, May 10, 2023 in Country Meadow Care Center.
The daughter of Robert and Dora (Powell) Burton, Betty was born February 19, 1930 in Kitzmiller, Maryland. She graduated from Kitzmiller High School and St. Petersburg Bible Institute, in Florida.
Betty married Robert L. Connell, Sr. on November 26, 1965.
She worked for Therm-O-Disc retiring in 1995 after 35 years. She also worked for Quality Inn for 15 years.
Betty’s faith in Jesus was unwavering. She was a founding member of Peoples Baptist Church where she was very active in serving her church family. Betty was active as a Sunday school teacher, nursery volunteer, she assisted with the Baby Ministry (gifting new mothers a bible), and was always seen helping with church activities. She loved the Lord, and loved sharing her faith through her hospitality. She enjoyed visiting and playing games with friends. Betty loved a good cup of tea and meaningful conversations with friends. Blessed with a lovely voice, she worshiped the Lord often. Betty was intent on bringing people to know the Lord.
She is survived by her son Paul (Tammy) Connell of Elyeria; step children Don Connell of Venice, Florida, and Barbara Harmony of Mansfield; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Along with her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. Connell Sr., step son Robert L Connell Jr., siblings James Burton, Marion Burton, Robert Burton, Jack Burton, Joseph Burton, Helen Schweinford, and Shirley Friend; step daughter-in-law Cindy Connell.
Visitation will be from 10 am – 12 pm, Tuesday, May 16, 2023 in Peoples Baptist Church, 223 Vanderbilt Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44904 where her funeral will begin at 12 pm. Pastor James Spencer will officiate and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions to Peoples Baptist Sunday School Bus Fund may be made through the church.
