Obituary
Randall “Randy” Wayne Ruckel, 62, of Mansfield, was reunited with his dad on Friday, January 21, 2022.
Randy was born December 20, 1959, in Mansfield to Harvey and Jennivee (Kegley) Ruckel. Over the years, He spent a lot of time with his family in Kentucky. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He was a 1978 graduate of Mansfield Christian School and served his country in the U.S. Army Reserve, including a short active-duty term during Desert Storm. He obtained degrees from OSU/ATI and from NCSC in Turf Management and Radiology. He enjoyed the first half of his career taking care of golf courses but enjoyed the second half of his career as an x-ray technician even more. Most recently, his favorite place was on the back of his Vulcan. It never mattered the destination; it was about the ride. Wherever he went and whatever he did, he had a smile on his face.
Randy married his wife of 33 years on May 7, 1988. Two of his proudest moments were when his daughter and son were born. He was even more proud when his granddaughter was born. She was Pap’s girl! Throughout his life he was active in three churches – Christian Union, Open Bible, and First Assembly of God. He enjoyed time spent with his family around the pool and at the campground.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Denise (Jorden) Ruckel; daughter, Bethany Riggins; son, Drew Ruckel; granddaughter, Amelia; his mother, Jennivee Ruckel; brothers, Bryan Ruckel and Tim Ruckel; mother-in-law, Dolly “Mam” Jorden; brother and sister-in-law, Dink and Delaina Porter; nieces, Cassandra, Christy, Jocelyn (Cody), and Jessica; great nieces and nephews; extended family; and close friends.
