Arthur “Leroy” Thomas, 87, of Mansfield, passed away on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.
Leroy was born on September 4, 1935, in Cardington, to Harry W. Thomas, Sr. and Lillian (Bird) Thomas. He was honored to have served his country in the U.S. Army and was employed with Crane for 39 years. Leroy was a member of Mansfield Free Will Baptist Church and was active in playing softball, bowling and fishing when his health permitted. He unconditionally loved his family, church family, and bowling family.
He is survived by his sons, Rory Thomas and Timothy Thomas, both of Mansfield; siblings, Jim (Mary Jo) Thomas of North Carolina, twins, John Thomas and Janet (Thomas) Hill, both of Michigan, and Mary (Vernon) Jones of Texas; and his great close friends, Bill Rachel and Jerry Lucas.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved wife, Lily May (Morton) Thomas; and his siblings, Harry W. Thomas, Jr., Frank Thomas, Marshall Thomas, Ron Thomas, Carolyn Runyon, and Diane Inscore.
Calling hours will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at Mansfield Free Will Baptist Church, 998 Laver Road, Mansfield, Ohio 44905. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Pastor Josh Workman and Pastor Mark Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
