Gisela “Gisi” Eder of Mansfield passed away Monday, September 16, 2024, at her home. Born Gisela Johanna on January 22, 1947, in Odelzhausen, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Adam and Genoveva (Zepf) Germann.
Gisi formerly worked at Therm-O-Disc, was a long-time sales associate at Lazarus and then returned to school to get her nursing degree. She worked as a nurse at Lexington Court Care Center before retiring. She attended Resurrection Parish. Gisela married Frank Eder in 1972 and was a beloved mother to her daughters. She was an amazing baker and enjoyed creating the most beautiful and delicious Christmas cookies. Her creativity took many forms over the years and included projects in crocheting, painting and drawing. She had a special place in her heart for her many pets.
Gisi is survived by her husband of 52 years, Frank Eder; two daughters, Tiffany (David) Eichhorn and Tammi (Nathan) Black; a sister, Renate (Lane) Edstrom; a brother, Adam (Osi) Germann; four nieces and nephews, Erika Edstrom, Ryan (Anneliese) Edstrom, Denise (Adam) Loveless and Jacob Germann; a cousin, Richard Germann; and many beloved friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Nicole Eder; and cousin, John Germann.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Rd. The funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions in Gisela’s memory made be made to the A.S.P.C.A. or Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
