MANSFIELD: Marilyn Jean Welsh, 86, of Mansfield died July 14, 2022 at Primrose Retirement Community of Mansfield.
The daughter of the late Merritt and Grace (Frazier) Mishey, Jean was born January 28, 1936 in Butler and graduated from Butler High School in 1954. She married Harry Welsh on February 17, 1979 and he survives.
Jean retired from Sears in Mansfield after 35 years where she worked as the Store Personnel Manager. She was a member of Ontario United Methodist Church and the Liederkrantz. She enjoyed playing the piano, reading, playing cards and entertaining. She also enjoyed playing golf and spending time at The Villages in Florida.
Jean will be remembered as a friend for life as she loved and genuinely cared for people.
In addition to her husband Harry, she is survived by her son Jim (Gloria Canales) Leedy; stepson Tim Welsh; sister Marcia (John) Fletcher; step granddaughter Shadia; step great granddaughter Zoe; special friends Cheryl Brumit, Sharon Pismer and Priscilla Vanarsdalen and several nieces and nephews.
The Welsh family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Wednesday, July 20, 2022, at Snyder Funeral Home (350 Marion Avenue in Mansfield). A memorial service celebrating Jean’s life will begin at 3:00 PM.
Memorial contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to Ontario United Methodist Church or Southern Care Hospice.
