Linda Ann Kunkel, 82, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away peacefully on March 6, 2025. Born in Oak Grove, Louisiana, Linda was the daughter of Tullie and Mary (O'Neal) Hancock. She was one of five children.
Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, whose warm heart and compassionate spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. A devoted Christian, Linda cherished her faith and found comfort and strength in her relationship with God.
As a young adult Linda was quite the adventurer and sports lover, riding her own motorcycle and snowmobile, often playing tennis with family, riding her bicycle and bowling.
Linda enjoyed traveling throughout the United States, one of her favorite locations was
the Great Smoky Mountains, a trip she made with her husband Dean for fifty plus years. She also enjoyed watching her grandson Brad play youth sports and made it to almost every game.
After she retired from Therm-O-Disc, she did a lot of volunteer work with her church and her community, she took great pride in making new doll clothes for the donated dolls for children in need for Christmas.
Linda is survived by her loving husband, Dean Kunkel; her daughter, Andrea Wilson; and her grandson, Bradley Wilson (Megan).
She was preceded in death by her parents, Tullie and Mary (O'Neal) Hancock; her son-in-law, R. Mike Wilson; her brothers, John Hancock (Nancy), Jerry Hancock (Pat), Wayne Hancock (Jayne); and her sister, Rosemary Haymond (Coy).
Linda's life will be remembered for her warm, welcoming spirit and her dedication to serving others through both her church and the community. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Wappner Funeral Directors-Ontario, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The memorial service will immediately follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Nate Hultz officiating.
