Tommy M. Hunter, 76, of Mansfield, went to be with his Lord and Savior, on Tuesday, July 13, 2021.
Tommy was born on June 14, 1945, in Mansfield, to Merlin A. and Geraldine (Metz) Hunter. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Vietnam War. Tommy married the love of his life, Jearldean “Dottie” Mills Hunter on July 10, 1970, and she survives. He was a wonderful Christian member of Faith Chapel and loved spending time with his family. Tommy was known for making people laugh. He was an avid sports fan and loved playing Fantasy Football on the internet. He also enjoyed playing chess with family and friends.
Along with his wife, Dottie, he is survived by his children, Cindy (Mike) Branham of Crestline, Lynette (Daniel) Baughman, Tammy (Andre) Vaughn, and Ricky Rose, all of Mansfield, Phillip Rose of Lexington, Teresa (Mark) Dickison of Johnsville, and Aaron (Samantha) Hunter; 13 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; siblings, Diane Jones, Kathy Mollet, and Rosie Prats, all of Mansfield; and many nieces and nephews.
Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 15, 2021, at Faith Chapel, 674 Hannah Road, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church, with Pastor Bruce Copley officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park with full military honors performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
