Obituary
Frank Melvin Diebert
April 19, 1947 - November 17, 2019
Frank Diebert, 72, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, November 17, 2019 at the Scenic Pointe Nursing Home, Millersburg, Ohio. Born April 19, 1947 in Willard, Ohio, he was the son of Charles and Della Diebert. Frank was retired from Sears as a Service Repairman.
Frank loved fishing, hunting, farming, riding motorcycles, wood working/carving, gardening, and fixing anything that needed fixing (cars, tractors, appliances, treadmills, lawn mowers). Those who knew that he had a knack for ‘making things work’ didn’t hesitate to call on him often. He had a passionate love for John Deere tractors, John Wayne (or any cowboy or cowboy movie). He also loved to ‘sing’ and that he did often, especially Josh Turner’s ‘The Long Black Train’. He was a sport one year (encouraged by the Crestwood Nursing Home Activity Director) to enter as a contestant at the Richland County Fair Senior Event. After much encouragement, he sang ‘The Long Black Train’ and won the Senior King title for the year. He was an all around nice guy who loved God and his family.
He is survived by a daughter, Janet (Jerry) Alfrey of Ashland, Ohio and a son, Franklin Melvin, Jr. (Sonya) of Willard, Ohio; his grandchildren, Christina, Brittney, Courtney, Frank, Brandon, Chelsea, Trinity, Liberty Joy and Autumn Marie; several great grandchildren; and his sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Donald Shoemaker of Long Beach, California.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Janet Marie, at the young age of 16; and an uncle and aunt, Edward and Sally Dibert.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 South Lexington-Springmill Road. The service will be conducted by Pastor Donald Shoemaker. Family and friends may visit one hour prior to the service, from 12:00-1:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scenic Pointe Nursing Home, Millersburg, Ohio, LifeCare Hospice, Wooster, Ohio or Crestwood Care Center, Shelby, Ohio.
