Obituary

Florence Curtis Knee went to be with the Lord Friday, October 1, 2021, at the age of 90 under the loving care of Kindred Hospice.

She was born August 12, 1931, in Ashland, Ohio, and graduated from Ashland High School with the class of 1949. She went on to earn her nursing degree from North Central School of Practical Nursing in Mansfield.

She married Dale Eugene Knee on July 15, 1951 and together shared 66 wonderful years until he went to be with the Lord in 2017. They are now together again.

Florence enjoyed reading and taking care of her family and home. Florence and Dale loved to travel and they took many car trips all over the US and also enjoyed visiting England and Ireland. One of their favorite places was Albuquerque, New Mexico where they had once lived. Most of their trips were impromptu drives together simply to take in the beautiful scenery of rural Ohio. Florence and her husband attended Hayesville United Methodist Church. She was adored by her family and will be remembered as a warm and loving person who took a genuine interest in everyone she met.

She is survived by her daughter Teresa (John) Anderson of Gahanna; grandson Andrew (Destiny) Knee of Mansfield; great-grandchildren Denelle, Lee, Aiden, and Bella; daughter-in-law Linda Knee; siblings Jerry and Bernice; sister-in-law Donna Scott of Mansfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, Florence was preceded in death by her son Rex Knee, and siblings Bill, Ralph, Tommy, and Julia.

The Knee family respectfully requests that all guests please wear a face covering. They will receive friends 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday, October 6, 2021, at Snyder Funeral Home, Finefrock Chapel (350 Marion Ave in Mansfield) where a funeral service honoring Florence’s life will be held at 1 p.m. and burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park.
