Roger E. Norris
Bellville - Roger Eugene Norris went to be with the Lord on the morning of Wednesday, January 26, 2022. He was 79.
He was born January 12, 1943 in Mansfield, Ohio to parents Doyle and Alma (Schulte) Norris. After graduating High School, Roger went on to be a welder and work at General Motors until his retirement.
Roger and his wife Joyce (Zeides), were fixed up on a blind date- and the rest was history. The two were married on June 1, 1968 in Bellville, Ohio, and shared in almost 54 years of marriage.
In spare time, he took pleasure in working on cars, restoring tractors, woodworking, and generally anything he could tinker on. Roger was also an avid Ohio sports fan, always cheering on the Browns, the Indians, and The Ohio State Buckeyes. He was also a fan of NASCAR and in particular Jeff Gordon. But above all, Roger cherished spending time with his family- especially his grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his loving wife Joyce Norris, children Jeff (Tammi) Norris, Jodi (Chuck) Wolfgang, Brian (Joy) Norris, and Trisha Norris, grandchildren Courtney (Michael) Armstrong, James (Jennifer) Wolfgang, Logan Norris, Kaitlyn (Joshua) Boggs, and Kristina Norris, great-grandchildren Addison Boggs, William Gage Armstrong, and another Baby Boy Armstrong on the way, his sisters Laurel (Russ) Barr, Pamela Roberts, Melodie (Jeff) Rhea, as well as many more beloved family members and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife Mary Katharine Norris.
The Norris family will receive friends Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the Bellville Snyder Funeral Home. A private graveside service will follow.
Contributions in Roger's memory can be made to The James Cancer Hospital and may be made at the funeral home.
