Obituary
Joe F. Loch, 91, of Galion passed away Saturday, July 3, 2021 at Magnolia Terrace in Galion.
Joe was born March 28, 1930 in Mansfield, Ohio to George, Sr. and Margaret (Roehrich) Loch. He graduated from Mansfield Senior High in 1947. Joe married Dawna Jeanne Truax on February 11, 1950 and she preceded him in death after 53 years of marriage on March 6, 2003. He moved to Galion in the mid-1950s and has resided there ever since.
Joe served in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1949 and in the U.S. Navy Reserves until 1955. He worked as a foreman at the former Fisher Printing in Galion for over 30 years.
Joe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Galion, Galion Elks Lodge 1191 and American Legion Scarbrough Post 243 of Galion. He enjoyed golfing, bowling and playing cards, especially bridge and euchre at the clubs and at home with his family.
Joe is survived by his sons Joe (Vickie) of Casselberry, FL and John (Monique) of Westerville, OH; daughters Keli Loch of Galion and Amy (Gary) Ressing of Alexandria, VA; granddaughter Rachel (Shawn) Evans of Crestline; three great-grandchildren Drake, Phoenix, and Wyatt; sister Carol Loch of Mansfield; special friend Doris Whites and her family, who welcomed him as one of their own for many years.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife Dawna; sisters Helen Weber, Doris Prince, and Marie Waleri; brothers George, Jr., John, Bill, and Ray and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at Richardson Davis Chapel of Snyder Funeral Homes, 218 South Market St. Galion, Ohio 44833 where a memorial service will follow Saturday at 10:30 a.m. with Fr. Paul Fahrbach officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
Full military honors will be conducted by the United States Navy and the Galion Crestline Veterans Military Funeral Detail.
