Joretta Belle Stair
May 6, 1931 - December 23, 2020
Joretta Belle Stair, 89, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday December 23, 2020 at Crystal Care Center in Mansfield. Born May 6, 1931 in Mansfield, Ohio, she was the daughter of James Russell and Melvina (Long) Harrison.
Joretta was a homemaker and also a Pastor’s wife as her husband was the Pastor at Apostolic Full Gospel Church where she was the secretary. She also worked for Meijer’s for a few years. Joretta enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking and baking for her family and was an excellent rock candy maker.
She is survived by her children, Flossie Jane Stair, Nancy Ann (William) Hogan, Mary Lou Stair, James R. (Jamie) Stair, Jr., Shirley Back and Thomas E. Stair; 13 grandchildren, John Hogan, Andy Hogan, Stephen Hogan, Aaron Hogan, Penny Aukerman, Amy Oden, Evie Retton, Melissa McCoy, Julie Stair, Anthony Zickefoose, Nick Zichefoose, Carston Stair and Kylie Stair; numerous great grandchildren; and her brother, Fred (Cathy) Harrison.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James R. Stair; a son, Danny Lee Stair; a grandson, Colin Stair; three sisters, Judith Beard, Patsy Gilchrist and Peggy Scott; and a brother, Jim Harrison.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at the Diamond Street Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 98 South Diamond Street, Mansfield conducted by Pastor Troy Wooten. Burial will follow in Mansfield Memorial Park. Friends may call one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., at the funeral home on Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Life Church, 961 Springmill Street, Mansfield, Ohio 44906.
