Helen T. Prosser, 87, of Lexington, passed away at Lexington Court Care Center on Sunday, January 23, 2022.
Helen was the daughter of William and Christine (Cloyd) Hudgens. She was born on March 15, 1934 in Midway, Kentucky. Helen was the only member of her family to move away from Kentucky to pursue a life for herself. Her family meant the world to her and she loved making memories with them. She worked in retail for many years at Kaufman’s and O’Neil’s fueling her love for shopping. Prior to retail, Helen worked in the banking industry at Mansfield Building and Loan. Helen was a member of Crossroads Community Church.
Helen is survived by her son, Chester (Ann) Ireland; her daughter, Kimberly (Craig) Underwood; step daughter, Sandi (Jim) Bollinger; her grandchildren, Jesse (Melissa) Ireland, Christine (Bryce Jr.) Clark, Carl (Brittany) Ireland, Katie, Cooper and Carter Underwood; step-grandchildren, Lynn (Brian) Timberlake and Debbie (Ken) Smith; six great-grandchildren; five step great-grandchildren; her sister, Mary Lou Cohorn; and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd “Jiggs” Prosser; and her sister, Dorothy Craft.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington Springmill Rd. The memorial service will follow immediately at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be held in Mansfield Memorial Park.
