Gladys Buck Bricker, 90
Gladys Buck Bricker, 90, formerly of Lancaster, passed away on Saturday, November 15, 2008 at Pleasant View Retirement Community, Manheim.
Born November 27, 1917 in Wagontown, Pennsylvania, Gladys was the daughter of Ada Mae and Charles Buck. Prior to marrying and starting a family, she worked as a secretary at Lukens Steel, RCA and a Lancaster County social services agency. She married Walter Bricker in May of 1946 and together they had two daughters, Linda and Dianne.
For many years Gladys and her family lived in Marion, Indiana where she was an active volunteer for the Red Cross, the VA hospital, and her church circle. She enjoyed decorating, gardening, art and reading about history. She especially loved her family and was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
After the death of her husband, Gladys returned to the Lancaster area, where she resided at Valleybrook Estates and attended St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
She will be lovingly remembered by her sister Pauline Trumbower of Reading; daughter and son-in-law Linda and Thomas Kilburn of Malvern; daughter Dianne Bricker of Woodbridge, Virginia; granddaughters and grandsons-in-law Lindsay and Scott Campbell and Whitney and Kyle Witczak; and great grandchildren Everett and Anya Campbell and Lily and Tyler Witczak. She will also be held close in the hearts of nieces, nephews, great grandnieces and grandnephews, and friends.
Services will be held on Tuesday, November 18, at the Charles Snyder Funeral Home, 3110 Lititz Pike, Lititz (Neffsville), Pennsylvania 17543 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Craig Ross officiating. Friends and family may call at 10:30 prior to the 11 a.m. memorial service.
