Obituary
Edna Faye(Rissler) Arnold went to heaven on April 5, 2021 surrounded by her family. She was born to Lloyd and Mariam Rissler on June 25,1930 in Lexington, Ohio. She had two brothers, Lloyd and Johnny, and two sisters, Nancy Canfield and Ellen Berger. She graduated 3rd in her class at Madison High School in 1948. She earned the title of Ramette Queen by excelling in every sport. She maintained her athletic ability throughout her life. She played volleyball with her great grandchildren even into her 80’s. She attended Ashland College and obtained a teaching certificate. She taught 4th grade for Mansfield City Schools. She married Richard Arnold on September 8, 1949 . They had six children: Debbie (Ken) Kear, Rick (Becky), Mike (Carolyn), Becky (Jack) Sumption, Dan (Tara), and Bob (Darlene). She had 31 grandchildren, 50 great grandchildren, and 2 great great grandchildren. She loved her family, her church, and her friends.
She was an avid Cleveland Indians and Ohio State Buckeye fan. She sent cards for every occasion and baked pies for every gathering. She lived a life that mattered and touched many lives with her caring spirit and thoughtful deeds.
Edna is survived by her children, grandchildren, her sister (Ellen Burger) and multiple nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Marian Rissler, her siblings Lloyd, Johnny, and Nancy Canfield and her husband of 49 years Richard Arnold. The family wants to extend a special thanks to Ridgeway Church of God for a lifetime of worship and fellowship, John and Terri Herringhaus for years of employment and friendship, Conard House and Memorial Homes for their excellent care in her last years, and Southern Hospice for making her last days comfortable.
Friends will be received from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 10, 2021 at Ridgeway Church of God, 1380 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Celebration Services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the church, with Pastor John Dodds officiating. Burial will be at Mansfield Memorial Park.
