Robert “Bob” A. Schnuerer, 83, of Mansfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 30, 2021.
Bob was born June 26, 1938 in Mansfield and was the son of the late Anton and Helen (Miller) Schnuerer. He was a 1956 graduate of Mansfield Senior High School. Bob proudly served his country in the U.S. Army, serving in Korea and was discharged in 1959. He worked as a truck driver for over 35 years.
Bob married the love of his life, Sondra R. Bauer, on June 25, 1960, to whom he was married for 55 years until she went to heaven on February 28, 2015. He was a member of Mansfield Baptist Temple, having served in the bus ministry, choir, deacon, Sunday School Teacher, and usher. Hobbies include hunting, fishing, and flying.
He is survived by three children, Randy (Rose) Schnuerer of Texas, Kathy (Eric) Morris of Columbus, and Tracy (Brian) Johnson of Wilmington, NC; eight grandchildren, Shane (Katy) Nusbaum, Brandon Spore, Anton (Suzan) Schnuerer, Jason Nusbaum (Kat), SuDee Schnuerer, David (Grace) Johnson, Spenser Johnson, and Zachary Johnson; three brothers, Anton Schnuerer of Tennessee, Rick (Rae) Schnuerer of Columbus, Jake (Judy) Schnuerer of Mansfield; three great-grandchildren; one brother-in-law, Ron (Wanda) Bauer of Mansfield; two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Chapman of Mansfield and Sue (Ed) Foss of Wilmington, NC.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Along with his parents and his wife, Bob was preceded in death by two daughters, Linda Marie Spore and infant daughter, Wendy Kay Schnuerer.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Werner-Gompf Funeral Services, ltd., 1106 Park Avenue East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Robert J. Kurtz officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park Full military honors will be performed by Richland Co. Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
