Velma E. Flood, age 95, of Mansfield, passed away early Tuesday morning, February 11, 2020, at Brethren Care Village in Ashland. She was born December 18, 1924, in Mansfield, Ohio, to the late Homer and Evelyn (Armstrong) King.
She graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in 1943 and worked at Ohio Brass Hubbell Power Systems. Velma was a member of Cornerstone Grace Brethren Church and was a wonderful example of a Christian woman. She was an avid reader and took every opportunity to indulge in this hobby.
Velma is survived by two sons, Tim (Janet) Flood and Bradley Flood; and three grandchildren, Clinton, Bryce and Erica Flood. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband R. Eugene Flood; brother, Robert King; and sister-in-law, Pat Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2020, at the Ontario Home of Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The service conducted by Pastor Les Vnasdale will follow at 10:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest in Mansfield Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Central Ohio.
