Elsie Howard, 95, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Crestwood Care Center in Shelby. Born November 1, 1924 in Dalton, Ohio, she was the daughter of Charles and Alice (Santmyer) Johnston.
Elsie was very family oriented with a very big heart. She always was willing to help anyone in need, and loved nursing her family and friends when they were ill. Elsie loved playing BINGO with her twin sister, Effie and enjoyed the company of her dog, Sassy whom was like a child to her.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Karen Howard; her granddaughters, Nicole (Steve) Heinberger and Natalie (Nathaniel) Irvin; and her great grandchildren, Lance and Kayla Heinberger and Garrett and Ellie Irvin.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Howard in 1987; her son, Robert Howard in 2010; and her twin sister, Effie Stillwagner in 2001 as well as other brothers and sisters.
There will be no services at this time. Burial in Mansfield Memorial Park will be held at a later date.
