Obituary
Mia M. Harrington, 28, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, April 14, 2020 to the heart break of her family who loved her beyond this world.
Mia was born to Susan Moritz and James Harrington on November 23, 1991. She was smart, funny, lived life to the fullest and lit up a room with her beautiful blue eyes, her contagious smile and her laugh. Her family and friends never had to wonder how Mia felt about anything. She made certain to share her feelings without reservation. She always felt the need to stand up for what she thought was right and to fiercely advocate for others. She was however, fighting the battle of addiction, and lost the war. She put up a good fight and was supported by many who loved her.
She leaves behind two beautiful children who will grieve the loss of their mother for a lifetime; Serenity Faith and Kallie Rayne Harrington were the reason she fought so hard. She also leaves behind her mother, Susan Moritz; sister and best friend, Megan Moritz; her grandparents, F. Thomas and Carol A. Moritz and Judith A. Wilkes Harrington; nephew, Jayden Harrington; aunts and uncles, Margie (Eric) Haus, Frank (Michelle) Moritz, Tom (Martha) Moritz, and David Harrington; cousins, Megan Harrington, Brittany Harrington, Zachariah Vance, Erica Dennison, Whitney Belt, Ella Pleshka, John Moritz, Dalton Dennison, Lindsey Moritz, Dylan Dennison, Sydney Moritz, and Avery Pleshka and their respective families.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Harrington; grandfather, David L. Harrington Sr.; and great-grandmother, Helen Moritz.
Mia loved her family and knew without a doubt that they would fight with and for her whenever she called upon them. There will be a void in the hearts of those who loved Mia that cannot be filled. She was a special mom, daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend, and most of all, a beloved child of God. Even during the most difficult struggles in her life, she told others of her faith in Jesus. It is with much pain we say our goodbye for now to a beautiful soul. With hope, we cling to the judgment and promises of Christ alone, as He knew her heart of gold and the difficult journey she was walking.
Take a moment to hug your family a little tighter, mend broken relationships, stand up for those less fortunate, and reach out to those battling addiction in honor of our dearest Mia. If you are struggling with addiction, don’t let another moment pass by, reach out for help so your family will not have to say goodbye too soon. 419-522-HELP (4357) or findtreatment.gov
