Donna Lee Lowe, age 80, of Mansfield, Ohio, passed away early Saturday morning, September 28, 2024, at her daughter’s home.
Born February 19, 1944, in Portsmouth, Ohio, she was one of three children of the late Charles H. and Effie L. (Freeman) Urick. Donna grew up in Chillicothe and met the love of her life, Arthur Lowe, when was just 17 years old. They met at the movies she was attending with a friend. That day, Arthur told his friend that Donna was the woman he would marry and so began a great love story that lasted until September 4, 2009, when Arthur was called home to Heaven.
A wonderful Christian woman, Donna served as secretary at Church of Christ, Faith Chapel for many years where Arthur served as pastor. She also taught Sunday school and faithfully read her Bible. Donna was the greatest wife, mother and grandmother and was a wonderful inspiration to all. She loved baking pies and lovingly prepared the best birthday and holiday dinners for her family. Shopping was a pastime she thoroughly enjoyed.
Donna is survived by two daughters, Renee (Billy) Colwell and Denise (Tim) Burdette; five grandchildren, Shane Burdette, Jessica (Jon) Roberts, Eli Burdette, Brooke Hannen and Rylee Hoadley; five great-grandchildren, Delaney and Addison Roberts, Ella, Everleigh and Hadleigh Hannen; a brother, Charles (Nancy) Urick; a sister, June (Wally) Miller; a sister-in-law, Margy Baldridge; and three nieces, Theresa, Rhonda and Debbie.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Friday, October 4, 2024, at Wappner Funeral Directors, 100 S. Lexington-Springmill Road. The funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor AJ Brinegar of Faith Chapel officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Mansfield Memorial Park.
