Obituary
Carolyn A. Colby age 98 of Fairview Park, Ohio, passed away Thursday July 21, 2022.
Beloved wife of the late William M. Colby. Loving mother of Nancy Colby, Bruce (Bonnie) Colby and the late Robert (Leslie) Colby. Devoted grandmother to Courtney Timko, Rodney Smith and Tommy Smith, Melissa Barney and Monica Starkey, Allison Spies and Jonathan Colby. Cherished great grandmother of Jolie and Tyler Smith, Jake and Evan Starkey, Hayden and Owen Barney, Louisa, Calvin and Sylvia Spies. Dear twin sister of Nancy Allen and well loved Aunt to many.
She was a dear friend to all who knew her - to know her was to love her. She especially liked playing bridge with her friends, the Cleveland Cavaliers and going to the casinos.
Carolyn served in the US Navy during World War II.
Carolyn will be interred at Mansfield Memorial Park, located at 2507 Park Ave W, Ontario, OH 44906 where a private graveside service will be held.

"Carolyn Cox Colby formerly of Mansfield, OH passed away at home July 21, 2022. She and her twin sister were born January 25, 1924, in Mansfield, Ohio. The daughter of the late Rupert F. and Minnie C. Cox. She married William M. Colby, former detective with the Mansfield Police Dept; moving to Fairview Park, OH after his appointment with the FBI. Her three children were raised in Fairview Park. Carolyn and Nancy graduated from Mansfield Senior High School in Jan. 1942, class of 98 students, including three sets of twins. She served in the U.S. Navy (WAVES) for two years in Washington, D.C. during World War II. Employed at Mansfield Police Dept and retired as secretary from Lakewood High School. She is survived by twin sister, Nancy Allen; son Bruce (Bonnie) Colby; daughter, Nancy Colby; seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and ten nephews and nieces. Preceded in death by her husband, William M. Colby; her son, Robert Colby; grandson, Colby Smith; sisters Mary Slabaugh (Watson), Emily Beard-Herrick (Robert); brothers Rupert (Mary Alice) and Richard C. Cox, who disappeared from West Point (1950); brother-in-law, Albert L. Allen, Jr. Carolyn was an avid bridge player, Cleveland Cavaliers fan and enjoyed trips to casinos. A fun, loving friend to many, and beloved by her family. Carolyn will be interred at Mansfield Memorial Park, where a private graveside service will be held."
