Rodney Lee Sherman, Jr., 56, of Mansfield, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2020.
Rodney was born October 17, 1963 in Mansfield, to Rodney Lee Sherman, Sr. and Flora Jean (Martin) Sherman Adkins. Rodney battled health issues for the last few years, but it did not slow him down. He loved being with his family and they were very important in his life. He also loved his animals and over the years he collected a variety of pets. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing, hunting, and riding his motorcycles. Rodney also enjoyed music and played the guitar, along with karaoke.
He is survived by his mother, Flora Adkins of Mansfield; his children, Amber Lee Sherman of Orlando, FL, Rodney Lee (Heidi) Sherman, III of Bellville, Ashlie Nicole (Harvey) Johnson of Mt. Vernon, and Maile Renee West of Ashland; grandchildren, Logan, Blake, Isabella, Gage, Chloe, Gabriella, Kameron, Madde, Zach, and Jazmyn; siblings, Sissy Sherman of Navarre, Tanya Sherman of Mansfield, Arthur (Tracy) Sherman of Shelby, along with Mollie, David, Rhonda, Kathy, Billy, and Johnny; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Rodney was preceded in death by his fathers, Rodney Lee Sherman, Sr. and Bill Adkins; nephews, Lee Spencer and Billy Noble; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Calling hours will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020, at Werner Gompf Funeral Services, ltd, 1106 Park Ave. East, Mansfield. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Pastor Brian Phillips officiating. Burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank everyone who helped Rodney over the years, as he battled health issues. You were all a blessing.
