Obituary
MANSFIELD: Doyle Wayne Carmicheal, age 90, of Mansfield, passed away on June 24, 2021 after a brief stay at Country Meadow Care Center in Bellville.
Doyle was born on March 5, 1931 in Hartville, Ohio to Rev. Charles Jerome and Cora (Smith) Carmicheal. He graduated from Massillon High School in 1949. He served honorably in the US Air Force from 1951 to 1955. From 1956 to 1995 he worked for Monroe Systems for Business, then at Mansfield Business Systems from 1996 to 2001.
On April 19, 1951 he married Mildred Gainer in Akron, Ohio. Doyle and Millie were devoted to one another for 48 years, until her death in 1998.
Doyle loved singing, beginning at an early age when he sang quartets with his brother and two sisters in churches pastored by their father. He was a long time member of the First Alliance Church choir, and a frequent soloist at weddings and church events. He served his church in many other capacities over the years, including as an elder. His friends and family will remember his love for the Lord, his keen sense of humor, and his gentle patience.
Doyle will be lovingly remembered by his three children and their spouses Deborah Davis (Tina Carpenter), Cherri Todd (Scot), and David Carmicheal (Yvonne); three grandchildren Aaron Todd (Shannon), Abby Snyder (Brian), and Bethany Todd; and five great-grandchildren, all of whom he loved deeply and whose achievements made him proud. He will be fondly remembered, too, by his brother Moris, sister Ruthie, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Doyle was preceded in death by his beloved wife, his parents, and his sister Doris.
The Carmicheal family will receive guests Thursday, July 1, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm in the Lexington Avenue Snyder Funeral Home, 2553 Lexington Avenue, Mansfield, where the funeral service will immediately follow at 1 p.m. The Rev. Robert Gunther will officiate. Private burial will be in Mansfield Memorial Park.
The family would like to thank Avita Home Health and Hospice, particularly Tara, Jace, and Angie, for the wonderful care they provided to Doyle. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial donations to Avita Home Health and Hospice (https://avitahomehealth.org/).
